Henry and I love to tell each other stories. Here he is telling me one over breakfast. Usually they are about firefighters or construction, but today he went freestyle.
Translation:
Once upon a time there was a boy named Henry. And I say hello daddy how are you doing? And he goes into the office and he was hungry at the office and there was no (I have no idea what he says here) He eat and uhhh there were uhhh the little one eats all of them.
The end
He is talking about how he sometimes goes to Bill's work and has licorice. One of Bill's co workers has a big bucket of it outside of his door and Henry loves it.
Here is the big guy in his astronaut pajamas. When he woke up this morning the first thing he said was that he went to the moon!
We have been so busy these past couple weeks. The kids are growing so fast and they have been keeping us very busy. Here's a little update in pictures.

Reese officially is a rolling machine. She figured out the tummy to back roll a week ago and is all over the place. As I write this I am constantly getting up and restarting her at the opposite side of the room!
Her next big skill she is working on is sitting up by herself. She practices everyday but always falls over and gets on her tummy which is her favorite place to be. She has been sitting up in highchairs and at the store in the cart and she loves it. It is a bit embarrassing though because she yells with joy the whole time.

We purchased a new cheapie little stroller that has a ride on board for Henry. He loves it when we first got it but it seems like he would rather walk, I mean run these days! He we are on our first spin.
Henry is all fire fighter all the time these days. We watch fire stuff, read fire stuff, play fire stuff, etc. Not much happens with out a comparison to a fire fighter, whether we are eating pancakes or going potty Henry lets you know that firemen do it too.
He wanted a gas mask so this was his solution...kinda creepy! He pulled his shirt over his face.
Instead I made him a mask. Here he is after a night out in Kirkland for dinner. He wore this the whole time and talked in his deep voice saying hello to everyone, very official! Yes that is a bowl, I mean gas mask over his mouth.
We also get an occasional visit from a construction man! Very helpful with all the jobs around the house.
Henry will be three next week and I just can't believe it. We have our 3 year old moments but he honestly is such a sweet boy. Full of hugs and giggles and never still! I just love him!
Ok back to blogging!!! Every time I sit down to do this something comes up. To be honest I am being held hostage by these two adorable little bandits who rarely let me use the computer!!
Lots to catch up on but for today I will share pictures from our trip to Sonora/Tahoe.
We took a 12 day road trip in our swagger wagon to see our folks and some siblings. It was such a busy trip we never even made it to Sacramento, which is such a bummer because we have many friends there we love. Those grandparents are greedy though and took up all of our time ;)!
Our drive was great and we totally cheated by getting Henry a movie player which was great! Reese was an angel and we really only had limited times of chaos, though I did go from the front seat to the back maybe a million times!
When we got to Sonora we had so much fun! Henry was in 7th heaven! Probably because my parents had made it into his own personal wonderland. They made him a fire pole and a construction site! Henry played from the second we got out of the car until we left. He spent a good portion of his time either playing on the Papa made fire pole (until he got blisters) or inside "cooking" and singing with Titi. It was magical! Here's proof:

Reese bounced her little heart out and enjoyed all of the attention she got! Auntie Tink, Uncle David and Eva came too and it was so nice to be together with everyone. Eva is all over the place an into everything and she is just the sweetest little thing! She loved Reese and kept snuggling up to her any chance she got! She also rang the fire bell for Henry which he loved! We adluts had a great time too! We relaxed, played scrabble, went to the lake, out to eat and had a yummy wine dinner made by the Rumbaughs!!

SO MANY GREAT PICTURES WERE TAKEN by the Rumbaugh's!!! I uploaded them all to our picture site :)
We then packed up once again and headed to Lake Tahoe to spend time with Nana, Auntie Anna and Lucy. We had a great house with a wonderful backyard and view of Heavenly. I had lost our camera for the first couple of days and it killed me. I missed so many wonderful pictures like the hand in hand shot of Henry and Nana walking to take a ride on the gondola together. They had a great time and we even went a second time the next day! Henry spent his time playing fireman with Nana either in the car or on the stairs and going in the hot tub which we made a warm tub so all could swim. Nana showed us what patience looks like! Reese and Lucy who only have a 4 month difference had a great time doing what babies do best, just hanging out and smiling! Lucy is so sweet and we had fun playing with her and her Mommy! We did so many fun things and had some great BBQ's in the yard. It really was great!

On our way back home we stopped in Reno and saw The Ferro's. Ben and Mike are getting so big and we introduced them all to Reese. The boys are absolutely wonderful to Henry and had him occupied the entire time while my brother and Lisa held Reese. They even had a Jeep for the kids to drive which made Henry's day!

We survived and had a great trip! We actually hope to do it again soon!
Today we took Henry to his first movie experience. We went and saw Winnie the Pooh and it was adorable. Henry did so well, sat still and ate tons of popcorn. I was so proud of him!
Reese just slept and when she woke she watched the last 10 minutes.
I snapped a quick shot during the movie :)
Earlier in the day we found an outfit that was mine when I was a baby and tried it on Reese. The polyester was a little more like spandex on the little gal! The nose of the clown squeaks which Henry and Reese loved!
Collectively everyone in our little family had an awesome weekend. We'll start with Henry getting to have a pancake breakfast (his favorite) at the firehouse with the firefighters. Then add in the fact that he got to use the hose, put on fire gear and sit in a fire truck and you have the best day of Henry's life to date, and possibly ever! It was so fun and the firefighters were so good to Henry. He was so proud to meet them and also a little bit shy. We arrived at the firehouse at 8am and did not leave until 11. Much to our embarrassment he lingered by the fire truck and every time he got off he got back in line for another turn. Here are some pictures:

For some reason ever since Reese was new I have stuck my tongue out her and blown raspberries. She loves it and has been trying to imitate me for some time now. Well this past weekend she did it, much to her amazement. I could tell she was tickled pink with her new skill and she has been doing it non stop ever since.
Bill and I decided we needed some fun too so on Saturday evening we took the kids to Novelty Hill winery and sat outside in the sun enjoying a big glass of wine or two while Reese chilled in her stroller and Henry played on the bocce ball court. It was amazing!!!
My last little story is not from the weekend but from today. As we drove to Target Henry said he saw a police car. I said great and we continued on our drive. As I pulled in to the parking spot I noticed a police man pulling up behind me. My heart jumped and I thought how embarrassing to get a ticket in the Target parking lot with both kids in the car.
Instead of a ticket the police man gave Henry a badge and preceded to tell me Henry had smiled and waved very happily at him as we passed him and it made his day. I was relieved and also pretty proud of my public safety loving child!
Our little Reese is full of expressions. Check out this sequence of photos we took over a 30 second period!
She also is always trying to sit up, it doesn't matter what she is doing!
She also has found her laugh!
Yesterday was Bill's birthday and we celebrated at home with a party. Henry was really excited and we had fun planning the party and decorating together. His favorite part was singing to Bill, which he did all day!
I feel so lucky that my kiddos are so wonderful to be around. Every day they surprise me and make me smile (they sometimes also make me crazy!)
We had a great 4th of July in Ocean Shores! We spent it with Grandpa, Auntie Anna, Uncle Andy, baby Lucy and the Hubert family. We had so much fun and did so much that it is hard to write about it all.
Henry and Halle had been apart for a month, which we realized was the longest they have ever gone without seeing each other. They really enjoyed seeing each other again and in true Henry and Halle form they were either running around laughing or trying to kill one another. Thomas is growing so fast and is crawling and climbing everything. He still has that sweet little personality and I just love him. He had Reese and Lucy to keep him busy and at times he would go back and forth between them just like a little ladies man.
The Piper's came from Portland too and as always it was so good to see them! Little Lucy is just precious and held her own among the chaos of the kids. She loved watching Reese and often gave her little love pats, which was so sweet.
Grandpa Steve was kept very busy the whole weekend. He read lots of books, played lots of games and marched in a parade with Henry around the house! As we were driving home on Tuesday Henry woke from his nap and the first thing he said was "I want to go back to Grandpa's beach house!" I think that sums up how much fun we all had!
Below are some pictures and videos. More pictures are on the picture site.
