Back In Session

Life is back in session! We are all healthy and back to school and all of our other activities which is just wonderful!

Henry is growing up right before our eyes. I swear each day he is more patient and talkative and really becoming a kid. He still has his toddlerish moments but for the most part I can see the light at the end of the toddler tunnel and it feels great. He really is so sweet and is always reminding us how much he loves us which really makes so much of the craziness fade away for a moment. His imagination is off the charts and he is constantly pretending to be someone or something else. It is super common for him to walk into the room and say "Hi Katie my name is Fireman Mike how are you today? Are you hurt or on fire?" It makes me laugh every time and it is so fun to see him slowly begin to play in a new way without me for the most part.

Here is one of his characters who wears all of the hats at once!

Reese has begun to take more and more steps in a row. I think our new record is 7 or 8. She is super wobbly but really catching on and I fear her crawling days will be behind her as she enters her second year :( She is one funny girl and also super animated and easily frustrated. Oh she is so loud and just screams when she does not get what she wants or if we leave the park. She also has been hugging and kissing us and it is so sweet. She is constantly saying her cycle of words Mama, Dada, Brudda, Uh Oh, Hello. She also loves to wave and blow kisses which is pretty funny.

Here she is in a leotard and her new shoes...pretty hilarious if you ask me!

Here she is taking steps. She is crying because she did not get to play with my phone and the camera. See hoe quickly she changes her tune when she starts to walk. Also love how Henry throws his dog into the mix and it doesn't even phase her :)

Here is a little video of the two of them. They love each other 90% of the time and the other 10% involves a lot of crying and even a little biting from Reese! This video shows their friendship perfectly!

Ya'll Gonna Make Me Lose My Mind

So here we are at day four of trapped at home by the winter bug and one more soldier has fallen! Yesterday when I took Henry to the doctor to get his croup rechecked we discovered Reese was also running a fever and had an ear infection as well as a cough. After 2 hours at the doctor with 2 sick kids we headed home with our mission to get everyone well!

Henry is getting better and to help this along the doctor had a nebulizer delivered to the house last night. He has been doing some breathing treatments every 8 hours and he thinks it is cool. He loves it because it looks like smoke coming out (my little fireman). Only problem is he keeps yelling "I am smoking" and "I love smoking" which are troubling things to hear from your 3.5 year old child.

Of course he doesn't know what he is saying and has no knowledge of what smoking actually means but I am just anticipating for his teachers to pull me aside one day and ask what we are up to at home!

Reese passed out at 5pm last night and woke at 7:30am this morning...that is 14.5 hours which has never been seen before in our home! She is on antibiotics and should be getting better quickly!

We have been in this house for most of the week and I am going nuts! We have had the occasional walk and trip out but the kids are constantly coughing and rubbing their noses so think we would be chased out of most places pretty quickly!

I have made Bill promise we can go out all day on Saturday so I can feel like a contributing member of society once again.

We made a tape race track around the house. They loved it and it gave us 30 minutes of happy play time and no TV. As Henry said "Mommy I am good at watching TV when I am sick!" This makes me cringe!

Ok here are some pictures of the fun!

What a Croupy Valentine's Day!

We awoke with a Valentine's Day surprise of croup! It was not all that surprising because yesterday I could tell Henry was sounding a bit croupy. At 4 am we headed over to the ER and after a breathing treatment and some steroids our little man is feeling better.

He still is pretty wheezy and having a hard time staying on the couch watching TV. He is telling me he is too busy for TV, and that he has some playing to do. Never thought I would be saying "no play, just TV!"

He was so brave all morning and I was super proud of him because it is a scary feeling to have trouble breathing and for some reason when the croup gets Henry it is always bad. He was a champ though and I am always amazed at how tough he is and how he really can roll with the punches! I think I would like to be just like him one day!

So today will not include an awesome Valentine's party at school (which we were very excited about) but instead we will party at home. I do have one painting project and some brownie making up my sleeve so we will see how the day progresses.

We have been so wonderfully bust lately. Lots of fun new stuff like swimming and birthday parties for school friends (I need to dedicate a whole post to those topics because they were so fun, maybe later this week.)

Henry also knocked his tooth at school and the dentist thinks it will eventually fall out. It is just the baby tooth but it will be pretty funny if he has a missing front tooth for a couple years!!! Fingers crossed it won't come out :)

Reese is climbing and trying to walk around everywhere. Mostly scaling the furniture and such! Lot's of bruises and craziness. She is constantly fake laughing and also has the words Mama, Dada, Brother and Uh Oh down pat. I just love the sound of a fresh Mama!

So much more to catch up on but for now I must keep the natives happy!

My cuties last week when we had sun!

Reese and the fake laugh. She does this all the time and even to strangers. It is quite funny and embarrassing. It is also quite funny because only one of her top front teeth is in! We call her baby Mater (after the Cars movie character)

Hope your Valentine's Day is filled with love!!
