Baby Lucy aka Baby Wucy

This weekend Auntie Anna, Baby Lucy and Grandpa Steve came for a visit. Henry loved seeing them all and was extra sweet with baby Lucy. It was fun to have a little baby in the house and made our impending arrival seem much more real! Bill has now coined himself the "baby whisperer" and was more than happy to help Auntie Anna when little Lucy was fighting sleep. Something I must remind him of when our new little girl arrives. Lucy had a tough day of not wanting to sleep but she still was absolutely adorable and almost always willing to flash a smile.

We had a great time! Here are some pictures.

One of A Kind

This picture below is how Henry fell asleep tonight. Right before bed he was being so naughty and so after he put on his cape and ears we decided to not make a big deal about it and just let him wear them. This is how we found him in bed 30 minutes later.

Big Things!!!

We had an up and down week. We were either completely lazy or moving and grooving. We watched some movies when Mommy was feeling really pregnant (7 weeks left!!!) We also went to soccer and a couple of parks throughout the week. Overall a pretty good week.

We ended this week on a proud emotional note...Henry is officially enrolled in preschool! I went to the open house last night and was so happy to find a warm and colorful classroom with sweet, nurturing and professional teachers. Bill and I talked it over and this morning I dropped off his registration form and that means we are basically enrolled for September 2011! I didn't think much about it this morning but after I dropped the form off I found myself feeling really emotional. I know some of this is my heightened pregnancy hormones but the other part of me is in disbelief that my baby boy is growing so fast. I am so excited for him and scared to death for Bill and myself! If it has gone this fast so far I feel like he will be graduating high school in the blink of an eye.

Anyhow the school is so awesome. It is called Bellevue Country Day School and is 10 minutes from our house and 3 minutes from Microsoft so Bill is able to drop in when he wants. It is a theme based and play based preschool which is going to be such a great introduction to school for Henry. They learn manners and also how to be a good friend and member of a group. They do tons of art, reading and singing. They also play outside everyday in the awesome little play yard which has a sandbox and lots of stuff to climb on. They also do sharing in front of the group and get to take turns being line leader and classroom pet feeder! They have 2 guinea pigs (Princess and Clover) and some fish. I am so excited for Henry I could just scream!

Have a Happy Weekend!
We are kicking it off with dinner at the Olive Garden (I know, but it is just so good!) and a killer game of scrabble after Henry goes to bed.

Here are some pictures from the week.

The next three pictures are what happens when I ask Henry to smile for the camera!

Waiting For a Bus

Yesterday afternoon we embarked on a huge adventure. We took the city bus to go to the tallest building in Bellevue. This was a bit of a last minute trip and it ended up being so much fun. Here is our adventure in pictures.

Here we are waiting at the bus stop. Hal and Hen were so excited and jumping up and down with excitement. Sweet little Thomas (tucked into Gregg's jacket) was taking in every bit of excitement and loving it too. Once we got on the bus he passed out!

We got the kids on the bus and the true excitement began. They both just kept saying bus and Halle was amazed they did not have seat belts! I think the regular riders were a little annoyed at the giggles and shrills each of them were letting out!

Here is Henry looking a little worried but that's not it at all. This is his processing face and whenever we do something super exciting he has to take a quiet moment and just think it out.

We got to the top of the building and he loved how little all of the cars looked. We were 450 feet up in the air and he and Halle had no fear. They even put their head right against the glass!

On the ride home they each got a bit more confident on the bus and thought they could just run around and stand on the seats so Bill distracted them each with a little movie on his phone. By the looks on their faces you can tell it worked!

The best thing about the whole day was that Henry slept 11 1/2 hours last night! We didn't get out of bed until 7am today which is amazing!!!!!! So we are off to go have donuts to celebrate our awesome day and night.

Happy Sunday!

Ducks and Other Stuff

We are still recovering from the Ducks loss on Monday night. We were so proud they made it that far and I literally had my eyes covered for the last couple minutes it was so intense! We went with Em, Halle and Thomas (Gregg was at the game!) to Zeeks for some pizza. We love it because we can watch the game eat yummy pizza and the kids can run around. We have been going there regularly since I was pregnant and we had our favorite waitress on Monday night who I remember held Henry for quite awhile when he was like 6 weeks old so we could eat our pizza!

Silly Halle and Hen couldn't stop moving enough for a cute pic together

Things have been going very normally. Henry and Halle have been playing a bunch and each time they get better and better at sharing and noticing each others feelings. They have been really into "helping" one another and they have recently been staging these types of interactions. Watch this video!

Tonight Bill and I are going to preschool open house night to look at the selection of preschools in the area. We are excited to check it out and are also in disbelief that in the fall our little guy will be going to school. We have really been researching to find a fun school that introduces him to new things but also one that is not only academically based. You wouldn't believe the curriculum and price of some of these places!!! We have found some fun ones that focus on social skills, creativity and building friendships which sounds like a great fit for Henry. We will keep you posted.

Happy New Year!

It has been a great year already! Henry and I both took a 3 hour nap today and Bill got to go to a bar and watch the Badgers in the Rose Bowl. 10 years ago Bill and I were at that Rose Bowl and lived in a Uhaul for 4 days while we traveled down there. Yup we slept in a Uhaul and loved it. We were laughing over coffee this morning at how much has changed in the last 10 years!

We had decided that nothing in our life was the same and while we missed some parts of the old life we were both so happy with how our life has changed. Our relationship has gotten so strong, and aside from some dishes in the sink and having to remind him of everything ;) , I feel so incredibly supported and loved by Bill. Henry has brought such a happiness to us and sometimes I feel like he is still this special secret that only Bill and I can share. He is an amazingly wonderful little guy. He has a soft and sensitive side that I adore, but I also can't get enough of his sometimes neon bright personality! Just to think in two more months we will have even more love to give seems impossible but also very exciting.

We are so lucky to have the best friends and family around and we constantly are given love and support by everyone...its enough to make me cry!

We ended the year with the Hubert's and a big bowl of fondue...yum!

So here's to an exciting 2011. We will be one member stronger and probably full of many more stories to keep this blog going!
