Our Little Tulip

We braved the rain and with Nana and Auntie Anna headed out to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. We had a great time and the tulips fields were just beautiful.Henry loved all the colors and people watching. We had a great time with Nana and Auntie Anna over the weekend. We pretty much ate and watched Henry amaze us all with his crawling and silliness. He just loved them both and spent the weekend staring and making eyes at them both. We always love our visits from the Nana /Anna team!!

Henry also started clapping this morning and we are trying to teach him to clap every time we say Go Ducks since time seems to go so fast and fall seems to be right around the corner!

Henry is still doing the 5am wake and party routine which is making for a tired mommy and daddy. Tonight we are going to retry the jostling technique to hopefully reset his body clock. I am hoping it works and he can sleep in until at lest 6am...times have changed when 6 am is sleeping in but it sounds like a dream right now!

Well other than that he is still getting teeth..#6 is coming in right now and he is getting better at dealing with the teethng pain. He also is trying to pull up to a stand on anything he can get his hands on. He still loves his dogs and often tries to keep up with them as they run around the house. He is getting quite fast!

Cruising and Crawling

Well we survived the cruise! We had a wonderful time and it was so special and emotional watching David and Kristina tie the knot. My sister was the most beautiful bride I had ever seen. I think I was crying, tears of joy, all day! Henry did well and he even put his two cents in during the wedding ceremony because he was babbling loudly on Auntie Shelli's lap the whole time. Our whole trip was great. We had a great time on Santa Monica with Kate and Tom who were awesome to let us invade their house with our travelling circus. Henry loved being spoiled by the future Mr and Mrs Sparks and even took a nap on their bed barricaded by suitcases!Henry loved the sunshine and even enjoyed watching all of us play a great game of Boccie ball. We even got also got to see our friends Brian and Emily who showered Henry with tons of attention giving us a great break!

We then headed for Long Beach and had a great time celebrating Uncle DRRR's birthday and catching up with lots of family and friends at the rehearsal. Next thing we knew we were cruising to Mexico. Henry did a great job. He was cutting his top tooth for the entire trip which led to many early mornings and lots of nightime fussing but it was fun to be on a family vacation and see how well Bill and I could work together. By the end of the trip we both had a new appreciation for each other! It also was wonderful because we had so many family and friends with us that we got quite a few breaks from being Mommy and Daddy which was so nice. I think everyone we went with helped us out. I makes us realize we really need to have our whole family in one town! We even went into Cabo for the day with Joe and Lisa and had so much fun while my parents took care of all the kids on the cruise ship...they are angels. Henry also got to spend a lot of time with his cousins Ben and Michael. They are such sweet boys and Henry loved them so much. Mikey loved feeding Henry and was my little helper every night at the dinner table which made it fun. Henry also loved his cousin Ben who always was making him laugh and smile. He would look at Ben as if he was the only person on the planet and just smile it was pretty cute! Here is a video of them having fun together.
So the cruise was a lot of fun because we got to hang out with our family and Henry got to be spoiled with so many hugs and kisses. He was like a little celebrity on the cruise. He knew everyone and we were constantly meeting new people. There was even a couple times I was walking around the ship without him and people would say "Where's Henry?"

The funniest moment of the trip was when I left Henry in my parents room totally naked so I could grab a diaper in our room down the hall. I got distracted in our room and suddenly there was a loud knock on our door. I opened it and it was my mom saying "Henry is pooping on our floor." I grabbed a diaper and ran to their room to find my dad holding Henry in the air over a huge mess all over there floor. Needless to say we got it all cleaned up(for some reason I had packed laundry wipes and febreeze..good thinking) and had quite a laugh. I am lucky my parents are so relaxed about these things. I mean every time we have them watch our pets or Henry someone has bowel problems!!!

About week after we returned home Henry surprised us with a major milestone...He started CRAWLING!!! It is so exciting and he is so pleased with himself. He is still new at it so we haven't been chasing him too much but I think a whole new phase of parenting lies ahead. I am thinking chasing Henry will help me to shed that dreaded baby weight that is holding on! We have already made a stop at Babies r Us and purchased crazy things such as toilet locks and refrigerator latches. This whole new world of being mom and dad just keeps getting crazier and more fun! I have never been more excited and more tired in my whole life...thank god for coffee!!! Here is a video below of the first crawl.
