Leaving on a Jet Plane

We have officialy survived our first plane ride with Henry. We left in the early morning of the 20th and were some of the last people to get out of the seatac airport before it was closed down due to the crazy winter storms! Henry was an angel on the flight and only on the way back did he cry. We did notice thought that even though both flights were full we had the last empty seat next to us for the poor person who happened to be late!!

We got the chance to see so many family and friends and Henry was such a good little guy despite the fact that we toted him around a bunch. We saw lots of frriends from highschool and college. It was so fun to see the amazement on their faces when they officially relaized Bill and I were parents! We got to spend time with Auntie Tink and Uncle Drr and Henry loved the constant attention they gave him. We spent Christmas eve at my grandparents and they loved getting to spend time with their 12th great grandchild! We then headed to Sonora and Henry got to hang out at Titi and Papa's cabin for a couple days. He had so much fun hanging with his dog cousins Millie and Murphy. Millie ended up being quite the nanny rarely leaving Henry's side! We sadly didn't get to see Henry's Nana because she had the flu. We did get to stop over at her house though and she loved Henry up with smiles through the window! Also Auntie Anna got stuck in Portland due to the weather and wasn't able to celebrate with us either...Henry was super bummed! We already have January time planned to see them both so they can catch up on baby time!

We arrived home and had our 4 month checkup with Dr. E. Our big guy is almost 19lbs and 27 inches long. That puts him in the 97th percentile and is giving Bill and I increasing back pain from carrying the little butterball around. We also have started rice cereal and he loves it! After his first meal he slept 7.5 hours giving us all much needed sleep! All is going well and we look forward to a new year full of as many exciting events as the last!

Snow Day!!

We woke up this morning to our first big snow of the season! All of the schools are closed and Bill is even home from work for the day! We couldn't resist getting Henry bundled up for some first snow pictures. He loved it even though we couldn't capture a smile on the camera he was full of them! Right now he is sitting in his swing in front of the window watching the snow fall and cooing up a storm!

Does this bear suit make me look fat?

Tonight we made our first official visit to Santa. It has been so cold here in Redmond (20 degrees) that we bundled Henry up in a bear suit to wait in the ridiculously slow line outside to get a picture with Santa. Only after we got the picture did we realize that Henry looked amazingly round and big...we had quite a laugh. I guess we should have taken some of the layers off. He loved sitting on Santa's lap and didn't even cry! What a great night it was!

We Made It!

Bill and I survived our first trip away from Henry. We went to Santa Barbara for the weekend to surprise our good friend Kate for her 30th birthday...we had so much fun and uninterrupted sleep! Henry stayed back at home with Titi and Papa and loved every second of it. They had not seen Henry since he was 2 weeks old and were shocked by how much he had grown!!! They had so much fun together and put up with our many phone calls home just to say hi to our little guy! While we were gone Henry was in seventh heaven! He was either smiling and chatting with Papa or smiling and doing tubby tummy time with Titi. My parents even claim that Henry helped make cookies and put hardware on the cabinets! I think he would have been fine if Bill and I extended our vacation for another month or two. Overall it was a a great trip for everyone. Now we just have to work on eating all the meals my mom left for us in the freezer...yummy! Now that Hnery has seen all four grandparents in less than a month Bill and I realize how important family is to have close by...we are hoping we all will live near each other some time soon. It is so neat to see your parents hold your baby...you really do realize how much they do love you!

Rockin and Rolling...Over!

Lots of posts this week but it has been quite a big week for our little guy! He topped of the week with his first roll over from his belly to his back...big stuff in our household these days! Who thought our Friday nights would hold this much excitement!!! Also I posted a picture where he is making the cool guy right back at ya hand gesture...Bill loved this one and has nicknamed our little guy "shooter mcgavin"!

First Belly Laugh

Henry has been very smiley and full of giggles lately but today we got our first belly laugh! We went to visit Auntie Dawn, recovering like a champ after surgery, and he thought she was just so funny!!! I couldn't resist taking a video to share with everyone! Hopefully this is just the beginning of years of laughter.

Also Henry loved watching his cousin's play mariocart on Wii. I got a pretty cute picture of the 3 of them playing!

Turkey Day

Well we officialy made it through our first thanksgiving/first road trip with Henry. We headed to Portland Thursday morning and Henry slept almost the whole way...surprising for a child who hates his car seat and usually screams the whole time we are in the car! We took over Auntie Anna's house with ALL of our baby gear and had a grweat time. Grandpa Steve joined us all the way from Kohler, WI and was shocked at how much Henry had grown since he had seen him last. Henry spent the weekend happily in Grandpa and Auntie Anna's arms which gave Bill and I quite a nice rest from the backaches of carrying our little chubber around. When he wasn't smiling or cooing with Auntie Anna and Grandpa Steve he was happily jumping in his johnny jump up! He actually jumped so much he got blisters on his toes! Henry also met his Daddy's Aunt Margret and Uncle Paul as well as Daddy's cousin Elizabeth who taught us a great new way to hold Henry when his tummy was achy. Overall we had quite a successful trip and it was nice to watch Henry interact with our family...he sure does love everyone!

Henry is now 3 months old which is just amazing to Bill and Me. The time has flown and gone are the days of no sleep and constant crying. Henry has been full of smiles, coos and giggles and it is so fun to find him in his crib in the morning after a good nights sleep with a big smile on his face!
